TRN-No Excuse Zone

April 11, 2012 –

So what is “Team Right Now” all about? I mean, it is kind of a strange name, right? When I went back and forth on names and what I wanted this fitness team to represent, this is the one that stuck for two main reasons.

1) The song “Right Now” became my theme song for my first 90 days and I wanted it to become the my fitness company’s rallying cry!

2) Doing things “Right Now” is about stopping all procrastination. About  accepting”No Excuses!” and not waiting for tomorrow to do what can and needs to be done today! And “excuses” is what I want to talk more about.

I listened to a great speech by a woman by the name of Dani Johnson. (More info on how to get her free speech below.) Her entire speech was about the fact that we live in a society of excuses. And while she could be perceived as abrassive at times, her words ring true.
We hear excuses everyday. Hey, we even contribute to the excuse pool! But when it comes down to it, you are the only one in control of you. If you want to give yourself excuses to make you feel better, then you are with the other 99% of people out there. That may sound a little harsh, but let’s be honest with each other. What separates those who “do” and “do not”? Those who say “I’m glad I did” vs. those who say “I wish I had.” Those who are “trapped” vs. those who “break free” of any chains holding them down. Those who “give up” and those “pick themselves up and try again.”

There are so many success stories out there from such a broad of a background of people. Whether it is fitness and health, financial success, or whatever. And I believe the common theme in success is the person chooses to accept “No Excuses”.

Everyone has heard of Colonel Sanders. But did you know he was 65 when he finally got someone to pay him to use his Fried Chicken Recipe? It took him 2 years to find that someone. And you know how many times Colonel Sanders heard “No” before he got a “Yes”? 1009! 1009 times! Now that is persistance and an unwillingness to make excuses.

Florence Nightingale said, “I attribute my success to this: I never gave or took an excuse.” Benjamin Franklin said, “He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else.”

You can find endless stories and endless quotes on doing whatever it takes and making no excuses. So back to Team Right Now. We are here to provide encouragement, support, and inspiration to those who want to change. To those who refuse to accept what life throws at them. But rather want to really live life. Be an Inspiration to others. Be Significant in the lives of others. Be a Source of Strength. But the first step is the most important…make no excuses. You owe yourself more than that.

I really enjoy coaching this team and creating a Pay It Forward Business with this team’s coaches. But I hear excuses all the time:

– I Don’t Have Time
– I’ll Do It Next Month
– It’s Too Expensive
– It’s Too Hard
– I’m Not Good At This
– It’s Not For Me.

The list goes on and on and on. This is the reason your “Why” is the most important thing you will ever write down on a piece of paper. It is that thing you need to hold onto with every fiber of your being. Whether it is for your workout program or your coaching business.

– I want to commit to  {Name Your Beachbody Program} to regain my self confidence….to making changes in my health througth working our and eating right….or so I can play with my kids and be an example for them

– I want to Pay It Forward with Beachbody Coaching so I can help others and save for my kid’s college…or get out of debt…or stay home with my kids…or be a millionaire.

What ever it is. No “Why” is too small or too big. The most important thing is that is it YOURS. And when you believe in that WHY, NO EXCUSES should get in your way. Not one. Don’t let them. They will sneak up on you and tempt you with an easier path. Do it for yourself! This is hard work. But it will be worth it. Trust Me!!

Now if you need more than my little rallying speech, do me a favor. Go to Dani Johnson’s website and download the free MP3s HERE. You just need to enter in your email. It doesn’t cost anything.

Artist: Van Halen
Song: Right Now

Don’t wanna wait ’til tomorrow
Why put it off another day?
One by one, little problems
Build up, and stand in our way.

One step ahead, one step behind it
Now ya gotta run to get even
Make future plans I’ll dream about yesterday, hey!
Come on turn, turn this thing around

(Right now) Hey! It’s your tomorrow
(Right now) Come on, it’s everything
(Right now) Catch your magic moment
Do it right here and now
It means everything

Miss a beat, you lose a rhythm
An nothin’ falls into place.
Only missed by a fraction
Slipped a little off your pace.

The more things you get, the more you want
Just trade in one for another
Workin’ so hard to make it easy
Whoa, got to turn. Come on, turn this thing around

(Right now) Hey, it’s your tomorrow
(Right now) Come on, it’s everything
(Right now) catch that magic moment

Do it right here and now
It means everything

Right now
What are ya waitin’ for?
Right now

(Guitar Solo)

(Right now) Hey! It’s your tomorrow
(Right now) Come on, it’s everything
(Right now) Catch that magic moment

And do it right, right now
(Right now) Oh, right now! It’s what’s happening
Right here and now
Right now, it’s right now

Tell me, what are ya waitin’ for?
Turn this thing around
