Speechless

August 13, 2011 –

I am speechless. I’m astonished and amazed.
I am silenced by Your wondrous grace.
You have saved me.
You have raised me from the grave.
And I am speechless in Your presence now.
I’m astounded as I consider how
You have shown us
A love that leaves us speechless.

This is the chorus from my favorite Steven Curtis Chapman song, “Speechless”. It is so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life. Running from here to there. Staying on Task. Getting your “To-Do” List done. And then the next morning hots and you repeat.

I need to constantly remind myself of God’s presence and grace. We are all equally important to Him. We are His children and with Him in our corner how can we lose? Think about that. With God in our corner, how can we lose? If this in not the ultimate confidence booster, I don’t know what is.

His love is greater than we can comprehend. His light is brighter than our eyes can take in. He rejoices over the one who was lost, but is now found (just like the parable). He will never leave our side, even when we forget about Him. He will take our burdens away if we let Him. And He will lead us if we let Him guide us.

I need to remember to open my spiritual eyes and remove the noise of our earthly daily activities. When I do, I stand in awe of His wonderous grace and I find myself Speechless. Many times when I am running in the morning, I will look at the sun, put my hands down by my side, close my eyes and just take Him in. Similar to nature, being outside and exercising helps me be closer to God. As I have said before, I am a big visual person. Whether it is visualizing a goal or seeing a picture that reminds of me of His love. Below are a couple of my favorite visualizations that bring me peace, comfort, and joy.

I have posted the lyrics and song “Speechless” below. I hope it moves you as it consistently moves me. God Bless.

Speechless

By Steven Curtis Chapman

Words fall like drops of rain
My lips are like clouds
I say so many things
Trying to figure You out
But as mercy opens my eyes
My words are stolen away
With this breathtaking view of Your grace

And I am speechless I’m astonished and amazed
I am silenced by Your wondrous grace
You have saved me
You have raised me from the grave
And I am speechless in Your presence now
I’m astounded as I consider how
You have shown us
A love that leaves us speechless

So what kind of love could this be
That would trade heaven’s throne for a cross
And to think You still celebrate
Over finding just one who was lost
And to know You rejoice over us
The God of this whole universe
It’s a story that’s too great for words

Oh how great is the love
The Father has lavished upon us
That we should be called
The sons and the daughters of God

We are speechless so amazed
We stand in awe of Your grace
We stand in awe of Your mercy
You have saved us
We stand in awe of Your love
From the grave
We are speechless

We are speechless in Your presence now
We stand in awe of Your cross
We’re astounded as we consider how
We stand in awe of Your power
You have shown us
A love that leaves us speechless
We are speechless

I am speechless

Love the song, love the comments. Great topic. I realized that once I got my nutrition and diet in order, my spiritual walk became more focused. Thats why I feel working out and taking care of ourselves is truly apart of Gods plan for all of our lives. In the Bible it describes Christ climbing mountains to pray. You can’t do that if your out of shape and I believe he wants us to do the same.

Great perspective. Thank you for sharing. You are so right on. Our body is a temple and God made it for us to take action! Not to sit around and watch TV all day.

Another great post, Mike…one that leaves me…well…speechless.

Keep up the great work. I love reading your stuff
