P90X App Review

The P90X App was announced at Summit in June, but Carl had asked us not to record the preview because of the sensitivity around the app developer.

Beachbody has put together a great website that tells you all about P90X iPhone App. Just Click HERE

I downloaded the app to check it out this weekend using an iPad that I won through Beachbody. For those doing P90X by the book (which is how everyone should do it for the 90 days), it is a GREAT app. It will help you track your workouts, log into WOWY, and keep track of your nutrition. The app costs $4.99.

They also allow you to buy mobile versions of the P90X workouts.

– Individual Workouts – $6.99

– 5 Resistance Workouts – $29.99

– All Workouts – $59.99

They do give you the “Bring It” and “Ab Ripper X” workouts for free. Now, bear in mind that these are not just the DVDs on your iDevice. These videos show Tony by himself on an all white stage (very Apple-eque). A camera rotates around him to show you his form while he does a voice over to describe the move. At summit, they stated that they shot it this way so you can see it better outside and it is easier to follow along with.

It is good to see Beachbody bring their workouts to the mobile environment. I am guessing this is a beach head for more and more workouts to be available in this format.

My Conclusion

The app looks really nice. It is very professionally done. The workouts are perfect for those who have seen the DVDs a few times. I would not suggest starting with this format though. Overall, if you just starting with P90X, this is a GREAT app. It is a great place to track your P90X life and keep you on the straight and narrow. Even if you dont buy the workouts, $4.99 for the rest of the app makes it very affordable to everyone. Now if they could just bring it to Android.
