I started P90X in December 2009 and pretty much kept my head down for 7 straight months. I didn’t plug in to any Beachbody community. I didn’t have a coach. And I was paying FULL RETAIL for all my Beachbody workouts and supplements.

It should not be a surprise to anyone who follows me that I love Beachbody products. As a businessman, what really impressed me early on was not only the quality of the products, but also the support from customer service. Very responsive. Very professional. And always wanting to make things right. You can tell more about a company through their customer service than through any other point of interaction.

CLUB MEMBERSHIP – 10% Discount

As I began to buy more workouts and supplements from them, I noticed that if I joined as a Team Beachbody Club Member , I could save 10% off all their products. You also get these benefits (copied from Beachbody’s website):

I use their Meal Planner as well. So from a pure financial standpoint, it costs $2.99 per week to be a Club Member. (However, they bill you quarterly, so you will see $38.87 appear on your credit card every 13 weeks.)

BE A COACH – 25% Discount

I have a whole section dedicated to coaching in my “Coaches Corner”. If you are interested in coaching others and building a business, check out the great information there and shoot me an email so we can see if it is right for you. However, my focus for this post is purely on how you save money with being a coach.

As a coach, you get 25% off on ALL products . To be honest, most of the 55,000+ coaches (and growing) do it just for the discount. To become a coach, there is a one-time fee of $25 and then it is $14.95 per month for your back office. The back office is a website that Beachbody provides for you that gives you (2) free personalized websites for your customers, keeps track of your sales, team sales, customers, commissions, as well as some training, sales tools, etc. Now you may not want to do the business aspect of this, and that is okay.

However, if you spend $60 per month on Beachbody product, with your 25% discount, you will save $15 per month. This is your break even point. So I recommend that anyone spending ~$60 / month, become a coach. This is why anyone who orders Shakeology HD, should become a coach. It is $119.95 at retail and with a 25% discount, you are down to $89.96. Add on the $14.95 coaching fee, and you come back to $104.91. So you save $15.04 per month on the product. It’s a no brainer. And if you buy more than Shakeology from Beachbody like I do, you save even more.

One other benefit of being a coach is if someone buys a product through you, you get a 25% commission. How do they buy through you? Via the (2) perosnalized websites that Beachbody gives you. Is it Right For You?

I’ll be honest, I created this post because I was ignorant and just didn’t know about either of these things early on. I was paying full retail for P90X Results & Recovery, Shakeology, P90X Protein Bars, new workouts, etc. Then, I joined as Club Member around mid year and once I got hooked on Shakeology, I joined as a coach. I was almost embarrassed because the math is so simple. So hopefully if the math works out for you, now you can save some money every month.
