Asylum-Relief Preview

April 25, 2011 –

I am doing a dry run of all the Insanity Asylum workouts before our May 1 ASYLUM CHALLENGE start. I will do a full Insanity Asylum Review after my 30 days, but I want to provide my initial impressions.

RELIEF is a very welcome workout after pounding away at your body in the Asylum. This is a workout that could be done everyday if you feel you need it. This is a true RELIEF workout. Unlike Insanity’s MAX RECOVERY where you still feel a slow burn throughout the workout, RELIEF is 25 minutes of slow “feel good” stretching. I have done this workout a couple of times and really enjoyed it.

I would recommend this workout after really tough workouts like VERTICAL PLYO or SPEED & AGILITY. If you struggle with your flexibility, I would do it as often as your time allows. If you can do it everyday, do it everyday. Flexibility is so unbelievable critical to our overall fitness. It keeps use durable which keeps us injury free. I know numerous people who started Insanity, overdid it, got hurt, and never went back to it. You need to take care of your body and you need to increase your flexibility. When in doubt, do RELIEF!
