September 10, 2011 –
As we all get ready for the P90X Challenge, I have crafted out my next 90 days. Now I am not officially competing as I am one of the host coaches, but I wanted to show the team what I am planning to do to prepare for P90X2.I have created a crazy mish mash in this one and have used workouts from P90X, P90X+, All 3 Volumes of 1-on-1s, Insanity, and Insanity Asylum.
But there is order in what may look like chaos.
1) I have 3 Resistance days that follow P90X format. I have swapped in 1-on-1 workouts for many of the days, but they still work the same muscle groups.
2) One day is dedicated to Yoga. Gotta have it! You know I am a big fan. Read my post HERE for more of my perspective.
3) 1 Rest Day or Stretch Day (similar to P90X).
4) For Training Block 1-2, I have 1 Day for a “cardio” circuit training routine. I have used Insanity Upper Body and Asylum workouts for this. In Training Block 3, those workouts have become the 1-on-1 P.A.P. workout. I believe that P.A.P. will be in Training Block 3 in P90X2 as well.
5) The last remaining day is a cardio day. I have given myself the option to Run or do an Insanity / Insanity Asylum workout.
6) For recovery Weeks, I have (3) Total Body Resistance Workouts along with a day of Yoga X, a day of X Stretch, and a day of Back To Core and Relief from Asylum.
Now who knows, I may tweak this as I go, but this seems like a good 90 days to prep me for P90X2. It will also bring me to my 2 year anniversary from when I first started P90X!
If you have any questions, please let me know. You can download my worksheet HERE, under “Workout Calenders” and is labeled Roberts Hybrid VI – Prep for P90X2 : P90X Challenge
Looks like alot of muscle confusion!!
Yeah. Same basic skeleton of P90X, but mixing up with different workout routines. And dding some Insanity and Asylum for the cardio days.
Looks like a good hybrid!!
I feel like Dr. Insane everytime I create one of these.
